Are there any age limitations?

Tandem students must be 18 years of age.  Static Line students Between the ages of 16 and 18 must bring with them a notarized parental consent form.

What will the skydive feel like?

The sensation of freefall is more like flying than falling. The parachute flight is inspiring. This portion of the skydive can be anything from an exciting roller coaster type event to a quiet and inspiring flight around the open skies. Many say their skydive has been one the greatest things that has ever happened to them.

What happens if the parachute doesn't open?

In the very unlikely event that the main parachute doesn't open properly, there is a reserve parachute in the top of the container which has been inspected and packed by a FAA certified parachute rigger. All of our reserve parachutes are equipped with AAD's (Automatic Activation Devices). These devices will deploy the reserve parachute if the main parachute is not opened.

What is your safety record?

Erie Skydivers, Inc is a member of the United States Parachute Association (USPA) licensed and adheres to USPA safety standards.  Erie Skydivers are proud of our safety record throughout our 25 plus years in existence.  Erie Skydivers uses new state-of-the-art parachute equipment, large colorful square gliding type parachutes that are designed for easy control and tip toe stand-up landings even for first-timers.

We are proud to say that all of our instructors and staff are home grown from first jump students of Erie Skydivers.
We believe this is the best way to give what new students are looking for from the instructors who have gone through our classes and now have hundreds and thousands of jumps.  All of our instructors and jumpmasters are USPA licensed, we have F.A.A. certified parachute riggers, smooth runway, and multiple aircraft.  A spectator area is available for friends and family to watch. (No pets or alcohol allowed)

What is it like to land?

The landing is easy. In the early days of sport parachuting, landings were sometimes quite hard. The new "ram-air" parachutes of today allow landings that are softer than jumping off of a chair.
